Modus gastronomies are the everyday format of Paolo De Simone’s project: the place to return to every day, for breakfast, lunch, an aperitif, or to bring home a piece of Cilento. Today there are two in Milan, on Corso Italia and Via Pirelli, and a third will soon be added on Via Colonnetta. They are the points where the direct supply chain from Cilento becomes accessible to everyone, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Where are the Modus gastronomies located in Milan?

Modus gastronomies are in two central areas of Milan, frequented by those who work, live in the city, and are passing through:

Modus Gastronomy, Corso Italia: Corso Italia 42, 20122 Milan, in the city center, near Piazza Missori (M3). Tel. +39 02 8286 0257.

Modus Gastronomy, Pirelli 35: Via G.B. Pirelli 35, 20124 Milan, in Porta Nuova, between Central Station and Gioia (M2). Tel. +39 02 8286 1526. It opened at the end of April 2026 and is convenient for those arriving in Milan by train or working in the Porta Nuova office district.

Modus Gastronomy, Via Colonnetta: Via Colonnetta 5, 20122 Milan. Opens in November 2026.

When are the Modus gastronomies open?

Modus gastronomies cover breakfast, lunch, aperitifs, and takeout, with the following hours:

Corso Italia: Monday to Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. It is closed on Sundays.

Pirelli 35: Every day from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., including Sundays.

On public holidays, it is advisable to check the hours by calling the location.

Does Modus serve breakfast?

Yes. Modus gastronomies offer a breakfast service with baked goods prepared every morning: bread made from ancient Cilento grains, cookies, cakes, and traditional Cilento pastries. For breakfast at Modus, you will find freshly baked bread, artisanal Cilento jam, and honey from Francescantonio Cavalieri.

It is a breakfast intended to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Those who have time in the morning will find an authentic breakfast at Modus, with the flavors of Cilento.

What can you eat for lunch at Modus gastronomies?

Lunch is the main service at Modus gastronomies. The daily menu is prepared from the morning and varies based on the ingredients available from the Cilento supply chain. The structure is that of traditional Cilento cuisine: appetizers, first courses, main courses, and sides.

The most recurring dishes include pasta made from ancient grains with Cilento sauces (organic tomato, with legumes, with vegetables), Controne bean soups and other legumes, grilled vegetables and vegetables in oil, and fish and meat main courses according to the season. The menu changes every day.

Lunch at Modus is also ideal for those with little time: counter service is fast, you choose what you want, and you can eat on-site or take it away. The ingredients are the same as those in the pizzerias, and the care in preparation is identical.

Can I do gourmet grocery shopping at Modus gastronomies?

Yes. Next to the gastronomy counter, Modus locations offer a space dedicated to bulk and packaged Cilento products. You can find extra virgin olive oil from Cilento, ancient grain pasta, artisanal preserves, legumes, cured meats, cheeses, honey, and flour.

The advantage of buying at the gastronomy is the ability to taste before you buy and to receive advice from the staff. Soon, these same products will also be available for home delivery.

What is the difference between a Modus gastronomy and a Modus pizzeria?

Modus pizzerias (Via Andrea Maffei and Corso Magenta) are dedicated to pizza: restaurant setting, table service, menu designed for a dinner or lunch with multiple courses. The experience is slower and more structured.

Modus gastronomies (Corso Italia and Via Pirelli) are dedicated to everyday Cilento cuisine: breakfast, quick lunch, aperitif, takeout, grocery shopping. The experience is more informal and flexible. Both formats share the same ingredients and the same supply chain: it is the context and the rhythm that change.
